☀️ Sun Gem – Ruby

Ruby, known as Manikya or Padmaragini in Sanskrit and Manik in Hindi, is a gemstone ruled by the Sun (Surya).

**Identification:**  

A genuine ruby is characterized by its sun-red color, transparency, glossy finish, slight heaviness, and radiant appearance.

**Tests:**  

- Emits warmth when held in the palm.  

- Emits red rays when placed in a glass vessel.  

- Tints cow’s milk slightly pink.  

**Method of Wearing:**  

- Wear the ruby on Sunday during the Sun's Hora, or during the Krittika, Uttara Phalguni, Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra, or Ravi Pushya Yoga.  

- It should be set in gold or copper and worn on the ring finger.  

- Recommended weights are 2, 5, 7, or 9 ratti.  

**Sun Mantra:**  

“Om Hraam Hreem Hraum Sah Suryaya Namah.”

**Benefits:**  

Wearing a ruby is believed to confer authority, fame, luck, male progeny, and vitality. It may also provide relief from heart, eye, and blood disorders, as well as general weakness.
